Chimpanzee Enrichment - Unintentional Enrichment

This is enrichment that is not planned by the humans at CHCI.

The chimpanzees may spontaneously use objects or respond to events in their environment. For example, the chimpanzees spend time watching the university students walk to class, the cars driving by, ROTC practicing their drills, and other things going on outside.

The chimpanzees often react to weather events: a snowstorm or sudden thunder storm may elicit a reaction from the chimpanzees.
